Some traditions aren’t planned—they just happen.
When Andy Egert first came to Boquete during the early years of the local blues festival, it was simply another stop on his tour. But something clicked. The music, the crowd, the energy—there was a connection.
That first visit turned into something much bigger.
Over the years, Andy has returned again and again, becoming a familiar face and sound at Mike’s Global Grill. What started as a one-time performance has grown
into a 14+ year tradition, with Andy making Mike’s a regular stop whenever he’s in Boquete.
If you’ve been here on one of those nights, you already know—this isn’t just live music.
It’s a packed room.
It’s people leaning in, plates down, drinks in hand. It’s the kind of night where the line between stage and crowd disappears—sometimes literally.
From intimate sets to unforgettable performances—including the nights he’s taken the show right onto the bar—Andy brings a style rooted in classic blues: raw, real, and full of soul.

But beyond Boquete, Andy is a true blues veteran. With a career spanning over four decades, he has performed across Europe and the United States, sharing stages with internationally recognized blues artists and earning a reputation as one of Europe’s hardest-working touring bluesmen. In 2010, he was honored with the Swiss Blues Award, a testament to his impact on the international blues scene.
And that’s why people keep coming back.
This week marks another chapter in that story—and for this visit, his final night in Boquete will be right here at Mike’s.
