CHIP SURVIVES WEEK 5’S FINAL TWIST TO CLAIM WEEKLY HONORS

Week 5 at Mike’s Global Grill began with an upset, delivered a Sunday stalemate and saved its deciding twist for Monday-night overtime.

Tampa Bay set the tone Thursday by holding off Dallas. Of the pool’s 63 entries, only Katie P, Robert S and Suzy backed the Buccaneers. Sixty Cowboys picks went down together, giving that trio an early advantage.

Sunday reshuffled the board. The Giants–Washington tie awarded no correct-pick points to either side, leaving everyone empty-handed in that matchup. Chip nevertheless worked his way into the lead with 11 correct picks.

Then Baltimore beat Atlanta 30–23 in overtime Sunday night. Robert S had the Ravens, moving him to 10 correct and keeping the weekly contest alive with one game remaining.

The Monday equation was simple: Chip needed the Rams; Robert needed Buffalo to force a tie. The Bills delivered, beating Los Angeles 37–34 in overtime and bringing both players home with 11 correct.

That sent the weekly honors to the tiebreaker. Monday’s combined score was 71. Chip’s prediction of 55 finished 16 points away, closer than Robert’s 40, which missed by 31. Chip takes first place, with Robert S second.

The season-long race continues to tighten behind Doug. His nine Week 5 correct picks lift him to 55 overall, two ahead of Leyda DLL at 53. Eddy DLL and Rick share third with 52. Chip’s weekly finish also lifts him from 19th to a share of seventh in the Progressive standings.

Another unpredictable week is in the books—and every correct pick still matters as we head into Week 6.
